Jim Karleskint is a husband, a father, a grandfather, an educator, a veteran of Vietnam, and a life-long resident of Kansas. He brings more than 40 years of real world experience of problem solving, balancing a budget, and supervising a workforce.
Jim was born in Fort Scott, Kansas and raised on a dairy farm. He and his wife now reside in Tonganoxie and have 5 children and 11 grandchildren. He is a Vietnam veteran, and was awarded a Bronze Star for meritorious service.
Jim is a graduate of Pittsburg State University with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and received his doctorate in education from the University of Kansas. He is a retired educator, having spent 14 years as a teacher and principal of Immaculata High School in Leavenworth, as assistant Superintendent of Royal Valley Unified School Distirct in Mayetta, Kansas and as Superintendent of Schools in Holton, Kansas.
Jim is Pro-Life, and a supporter of the 2nd Amendment. He is a member of VFW Post 9271, in Tonganoxie, Kansas, the Knights of Columbus, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, Kansas.
